What percentage of baseball players do you believe have taken HGH?

August 26th, 2010

I guarantee there are players currently playing who have taken it or are still using it, probably players people would be suprised used HGH for injuries and PED. Since HGH was undetectable when steroids were banned and when there was steroid testing Im sure players moved on to HGH like handful of retired and current players have admitted to using.

Enough that it didn’t give anybody much of an advantage. PEDs in the 90s was like SAT prep courses, people didn’t do it to get ahead people just did it to catch up with everybody else that was doing it.

If you’re a fringe major leaguer, and you could guarantee yourself a spot on a MLB roster by juicing, which was legal for a long time, you’d do it without thinking twice.

What are the best fitness classes out there that help you to tone up the belly?

August 16th, 2010

I am looking for fitness classes that are great to help you to tone up I would love a flatter stomach. I have had a go at body pump but that class kills me. So if you know any fitness classes that have really toned u up or you pals. Please let me know?

In order to tone up the best form of physical activity is weight training. Its the best and most effective method of toning and burning body fat. Aerobic classes such as body pump, spinning etc are brilliant but to really firm up you should get a weights programme done specifically for the areas you want to tone up. For your tummy you need to burn body fat and then tone, sit ups will not tone your tummy on their own unless you are burning fat consistently and resistant type exercises are by far the best. If you going to a gym get the instructor to do a programme for you 25-30min 3x a week is suffice. Or get a fit ball and do resistant exercises at home – you will see results within 2-3 weeks.Good luck.

How to get health insurance for Dubai visit visa?

August 16th, 2010

Hi, I am planning to bring my husb and kid on visit visa. I heard that the health insurance is mandatory for visit visa. Where (or how) to get (or how to apply) this health insurance for vist visa. Please advice. Thanks.

Check your domestic health insurance (if any) and bank (if you have a "premium" type account); the might include travel insurance.

If not, try the people who you buy home/car/pet insurance from; they might offer you travel insurance at a reduced rate.

In the UK, the Post Office usually has the best deals on travel insurance, but I don’t know how common this practice is in the rest of the world.

What are the nutrition facts for beef tendon?

August 16th, 2010

Beef tendons are usually in those noodle in soups & they’re so darn good as well. I love them most with the beef briskets. So out of curiosity, I was wondering what the nutrition facts are.

Beef tendon in noodles in soups? I don’t understand. Noodles are not make with beef. And especially not beef tendons. I would think the tendons would be rubbery. Like chewing gum that won’t go away.

How long should I be on hgh before taking an igf blood test?

August 16th, 2010

I want to test if my igf levels have raised. How long should I be on hgh before taking a blood test?

It typically takes 6 months, this will allow the body to have time to adjust to the increase in levels and see full benefits. However, each person is different and some show results much faster than 6 months. It really depends on how much HGH your body is naturally producing on its own.

What are the physical fitness standards to be a Marine?

July 31st, 2010

I’m interested in doing personal fitness. I figure I’d set my bar at the best of the best. I’ve looked at the Marine recruitment site and they offer not even a hint of what sort of fitness you’d need to be in.

Thanks for commenting.
By all means, share whatever fitness standards you know. Anything is better than not knowing anything.

What are the health benefits and risks of becoming a ballerina?

July 31st, 2010

I hear a bunch of rumours like ballerinas stop having a menstruation cycle because they are so skinny. So I was wondering what are some good physical health benefits from being a ballerina and some bad physical health risks from being a ballerina?

Ballerinas face the same health risks as young female athletes when they don’t eat enough to offset the energy they spend, and stop menstruating as a consequence, says a new study.

The study, led by sports medicine researcher Anne Ho ch, D.O., at The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, has been presented at the American College of Sports Medicine meeting in Seattle.

"These two components of the female athlete tetras put them at higher risk for the other two; the cardiovascular and bone density deficits of much older, postmenopausal women," according to Dr. Ho ch, associate professor of orthopedic surgery and director of the Froedtert and the Medical College Women’s Sports Medicine Center.

The researchers studied 22 professional ballerinas, all members of the Milwaukee Ballet Company, to determine the prevalence of disordered eating, amenorrhea (lack of menstruation), abnormal vascular function and low bone density.

The dancers completed questionnaires on their menstrual patterns and eating habits, and underwent a blood test for hormonal levels. Thirty-six percent of the group had disordered eating habits and 77 percent were in a calorie deficit. Twenty-seven percent were currently amenorrheic, 23 percent had low bone mass density and nine percent were taking birth control.rterial ultrasound measurements revealed that 64 percent had abnormal artery dilation in response to blood flow.

"It was unknown if professional dancers without menstrual periods have evidence of vascular dysfunction, yet some characteristics of the tetrad were common in this group," says Dr. Hoch.

"Eighty-six percent had one or more components, and fourteen percent had all four," the expert added.

What is the best vitamin supplement for women?

July 31st, 2010

I am working out six days a week and eating healthy, but I am looking for the right supplement to aid to my weight loss.

I like New Chapter. They are food based and their processing preserves much of the nutrients. They also don’t pack a ton of cellulose in there, which makes it difficult for your body to digest and absorb the nutrients.

My second most favorite vitamin is made by Rainbow Light.

As far as weight loss goes, here are some tips, but you may already be doing these.
- Eat 3 hours or more before going to bed
- Don’t push your workouts too hard. Over training the body can lead to an increase in cortisol, which can result in fat accumulation in the mid section.
- Eat plenty of vegetables. When you are hungry for a snack reach for a veggie!
- Get at least 8 hours of sleep. This is also related to cortisol.
- Eat ample protein, but not in excess. A general rule is your body weight in kg (lbs/2.2=kg) x 0.08= # grams of protein to eat daily.
- Be sure to weight train and hit the cardio.

Of course, if any of this goes against what a doctor has told you then you should listen to your doctor first.

Hope this helps! And good luck on your way to sexy!

In regards to vitamins not helping you lose weight:
Many vitamins participate as co-enzymes in body and help to metabolize fat. For example, if you wish to burn fat you absolutely need niacin and riboflavin to be able to do this. Vitamins E and C act as antioxidants and fight free radicals. When we exercise we create free radicals, so these are also important. It is also recommended that women take 400mcg of folate every day and take in extra calcium because we don’t necessarily get everything we need from our food. Ideally, if you eat a perfect diet you would get all your nutrients, but you’d also need to have ideal absorption as well. Of course, you can not take vitamins alone and expect to lose weight, but they will help you in attaining optimal health if they are part of an overall healthy lifestyle (diet and exercise).

PS- You and Jesus do rock!

How difficult was it to transition yourself from learning nutrition in college to applying it to your career?

July 31st, 2010

I am halfway through my college career and majoring in Nutrition. I don’t always feel confident that I am in the right field. Please tell me about your experiences! Did you feel prepared for your career after college?

Hi,

I didnt study nutrition at college, but I understand how u feel in a way. I’ve been studying to be an (adult) general nurse for almost 3 years, & will complete my training in less than 6 months- & i dont feel nearly as ready as I feel I should be. I’ve been told that the real learning takes place when I go into 1st job, & there have been times when Ive felt I’ve not made the right choice in career- but I’ve stuck at it & will see how I get on when i get a job. I’m sure you’ll be fine though- you’ve come this far & you probably will have doubts at times, but your halfway there,

Good luck
